Cecile Wolfs

As senior researcher, I specialize in applying artificial intelligence to radiotherapy, integrating medical physics and data science to enhance cancer treatment. My research spans image-based deep learning, longitudinal patient monitoring, adaptive radiotherapy, explainable AI, and clinical implementation of AI technologies.

A key focus of my work is the co-creation of AI solutions for oncology, collaborating closely with end-users to ensure meaningful, impactful innovation in cancer care.

I hold a BSc in Liberal Arts & Sciences and an MSc in Data Science, and earned my PhD in AI in Medical Physics from Maastricht University in September 2020. I’ve been part of Maastro since 2016, and I joined the Clinical Data Science division in October 2024.

I am a member of the ESTRO Early Career Committee, where I contribute to supporting and connecting early-career professionals in radiation oncology.
