Exploring AI Developers’ Needs for Healthcare Collaboration
Developing AI systems for healthcare requires close collaboration between technical experts and healthcare professionals. Yet, these groups often operate within different professional cultures, with distinct terminologies, workflows and approaches to problem-solving. Misunderstanding or mismatched expectations can hinder the creation of clinically useful AI systems. This project explores how AI developers experience collaboration with healthcare professionals and what they perceive as necessary to improve this process. Insights can inform the design of better interdisciplinary education, communication strategies, or collaboration frameworks.
Research question: What do AI developers need to effectively co-create AI systems with healthcare professionals?
Research design: Exploratory Qualitative Interview study
Methods for data collection: Through interviews or focus groups with AI developers, you will analyse transcriptions made of recordings. The method to interview or analyse is open for discussion.

Required skills: English
Time period: Flexible start date, approximately 3 to 6 months for the interviewstudy. However, an extension of the study based on the interview study is possible for a longer internship.
