Exploring AI Developers’ Perspectives on Trustworthy AI
The concept of trustworthy AI has become a central ethical and policy ideal. However, while institutions and policymakers promote trustworthy AI as a normative goal, the people who actually design these systems – AI developers – play a crucial role in interpreting and enacting what “trustworthy” means in practice. Their perspectives reveal how abstract principles such as transparency, accountability, and fairness are translated in concrete technical and organizational settings.
Research question: How do AI developers conceptualize and operationalize trustworthy AI in their design and development processes?
Research design: Exploratory Qualitative Interview study
Methods for data collection: Semi-structured interviews with AI developers
