Radiomics Strategy - Non-invasive Stratification of Tissue heterogeneity for personalized medicine

Cancer treatments relying on the 'one size fits all' approach, often render cancer treatments ineffective. Radiomics, an advanced method for analyzing extensive medical image data, allows for the personalized treatment of tumors. By integrating radiomics with clinical and genetic data, this project aims to enable a more accurate prediction of a patient's response to specific therapies and facilitate early identification of patients who will benefit from treatment and the effectiveness of particular drugs.

Radiomics thus enables a more personalised treatment of cancer. There is a great need for this, because tumours are very diverse. The radiomics platform aims to serve as a foundation for the development of radiomics solutions for lung cancer, prostate cancer and head and neck cancer. Additionally, new technologies were developed and implemented in close cooperation with industrial partners.

This project was funded by the Dutch Research Council (NWO), through the STW Perspectief programme in 2016.
